DDB Sydney creative director Richard Morgan will leave the agency next month to join 303Lowe as national executive creative director.

DDB Sydney has recruited Holler Sydney's Richard Morgan as creative director, the second senior hire in recent months from a digital agency.

Morgan joins from Holler where he has been creative director since March last year. Prior to that, he was associate creative director at BMF and has also worked as a copywriter at The Edge Melbourne, Publicis Mojo Sydney and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO in London.

DDB Sydney executive creative director Dylan Harrison said: “Richard joins our creative family with a modern communications pedigree that will ensure we remain absolute leaders in social creativity.

“He is passionate not only about what our clients are currently doing but also about taking them closer to the upper limits of their potential. He brings with him great innovation, enthusiasm and experience.”

Morgan said: “There are huge opportunities ripe for the picking at DDB Group Sydney. There is significant depth of talent from top to bottom of the agency and their commitment to great work is virtually unparalleled at this scale in Australia.

Morgan also paid tribute to his time at Holler. He said: “We've put in a lot of groundwork at Holler over the past year to take it to the next level. I'm happy that the agency has never been in better shape and I wish them well for the future.”

Morgan's appointment is the second one recently in which a senior creative has joined DDB from a digital agency. In April, The White Agency's Darwin Tomlinson came on board as integrated deputy executive creative director.

Holler Sydney chief executive Mike Hill told AdNews he is currently recruiting for Morgan's replacement and he will take over creative director duties for the moment.
