EXCLUSIVE: David Jones has appointed Foxtel head of brand and retail marketing Kate Whitney as its general manager of marketing in financial services, as the marketing department rebuilds following the departure of former boss Damian Eales.
Whitney has already started at the retailer, and has replaced Lisa Ronson, who started at Westpac in September.
Ronson followed former David Jones general manager of marketing and financial services Damian Eales, who joined Westpac as general manager of marketing earlier in the year.
Eales departure from David Jones ignited a shake-up of the company’s senior management ranks, with his role being split into two. General manager of cosmetics Brett Riddington was promoted to group executive of marketing, while general manager of the David Jones American Express Alliance, Matthew Durbin, was named executive director of financial services.
The majority of David Jones’ senior marketers report to Riddington, in his capacity as group executive of marketing. However, Whitney’s role sits within the financial services department, meaning she answers to Durbin. Whitney is the most senior marketer within the financial services arm of the business.
