Hart is to join the independent shop with experience as Omnicom Group's president retail agencies – Asia and Photon Group head of field and retail agencies. He also has a background as a lawyer and was most recently involved with establishing Blueprint Group.

CumminsRoss chief executive Sean Cummins said: “CumminsRoss has set itself some bold objectives for continued growth and to represent its clients in markets where they benefit from what CumminsRoss delivers. To achieve all that we can for our clients and our talent requires as strategic appointment of someone with Craig's background.”

Hart said: “There is no denying that CumminsRoss is in a special place and the chance to work with it and to see it realise its full potential is an exciting prospect.

“It is uncommon to see such a unified commitment from management and staff to be the leading exponent of media and creative working together in a one stop shop. And one that redefines the value clients should expect from their partners.”

Cummins also flagged a further expansion of senior talent within the agency, with a series a major appointments to be unveiled in the next six months.

“To continue to deliver enduring platforms to our clients we need to have the heart of a boutique but the rigour of an organisation,” he added. “And we will populate the agency with some of adland's best talent. A healthy tree is tended from the top first.”

CumminsRoss opened its doors in January 2011 and has since established a presence in Adelaide and the Northern Territory. Its clients include Chrysler Fiat group, Fonterra, Nike and Tennis Australia.
