Ninemsn commercial director Dean Capobianco has resigned from his role, as the digital publisher searches for a sales manager to lead Mi9.

Capobianco does not have another role to move into, and has not yet provided a date for his departure from the company. Ninemsn told AdNews it has not yet found a replacement, but is searching internally and externally.

Meanwhile, a group sales manager role has been created for newly created business entity Mi9. The position will sit beneath Mi9 chief executive Mark Britt and above the Ninemsn commercial director role, currently held by Capobianco.

Mi9 is the recently formed corporate entity which encompasses brands such as Ninemsn, Hotmail, Messenger, Bing, Cudo, iSelect, RateCity, the Microsoft Media Network (MMN), Xbox and Microsoft Advertising Exchange.

Recently appointed general manager for Microsoft Ad Exchange and Microsoft Media Network, Mark Barnett, will also report into the Mi9 group sales manager.
