Belgiovane Williams Mackay Melbourne managing director Hugh Nairn is leaving to join Ted Horton's Big Red agency.

Nairn will be replaced temporarily by executive planning director Jamie Mackay while the agency searches for a new Melbourne boss. Nairn joined BWM in 2009 and has previously worked for Clemenger BBDO.

Yesterday, BWM promoted creative director of digital innovation Shaun Branagan as Melbourne creative director and national head of innovation. Branagan will relocate to Melbourne from Sydney.

BWM group chief executive Paul Williams said: "Hugh is leaving BWM to join Ted Horton's agency Big Red and we wish him all the best for the future. He's done a great job for us in Melbourne.

"The appointment of Shaun, especially with his digital credentials, takes BWM to a whole new level, with new creative talent and the fantastic work we've been producing for clients such as Kmart, Iron Jay and Bird's Eye. We're really excited about the potential for Melbourne."

In the wake of Nairn's departure, BWM has announced a Melbourne management board consisting of Mackay, Branagan, group account director Nicole Miranda, group account director Belinda Murray, creative group head Amy Hollier, senior art director Gus Johnston and finance director Tim Anderson.

In March, BWM's Melbourne office won Kmart's creative account after battling it out against DDB and incumbent SapientNitro. The first campaign from the agency for Kmart launched last weekend.
