Bauer has rubbished suggestions that it might be considering any change of tack across its digital platforms.
The company has a deal with Mi9 to host its websites. Mi9's recent acquisition by Nine Entertainment has no bearing on that deal, and Bauer has free rein about what it does on social platforms, the company told AdNews.
The question was raised after it emerged that Bauer title Women's Fitness had relaunched on Tumblr, the social platform with a strong youth social skew bought by Yahoo! earlier this year.
A spokesperson for Bauer said that nothing had changed with its arrangement with Mi9 and that it was no different to Bauer's activity with any other third party social platform.
However, it is noteworthy that the magazine does not have a website other than the Tumblr presence. Its home page states: wwelcome to the new look Women's fitness website.
"Our sites are hosted by Mi9 and will continue to be hosted by Mi9," a spokesperson said. "We will leverage every [social media] advantage. We respect our deal with [Nine] and the agreement remains in place to host all our websites on the portal."
