RadiumOne has bolstered its ex-Ninemsn staff contingent by hiring Adam Furness.
The programmatic advertising platform, which launched locally last month with Kerry McCabe at the helm has hired Furness from Southern Cross Austereo as director of enterprise platform sales. Prior to SCA, Furness was director of sales strategy at Ninemsn, where he launched and helped commercialise the firm's catch up TV service and chaired AIMIA's video group.
His role at RadiumOne will be to help drive sales to brands, publishers, rights holders and agencies.
“I see this as a huge opportunity to join what many consider to be the most disruptive and sophisticated programmatic player in the market today”, said Furness.
RadiumOne was officially founded three and a half years ago by controversial entrepreneur Gurbaksh Chahal, who sold his first two ad tech companies for $340 million by the time he was 25.
It's an end-to-end programmatic advertising platform, with a fully integrated data management platform (DMP) and demand-side platform (DSP).
Locally the firm said that it is gaining more traction than anticpated. Alongside Furness, the firm has News Corp's former head of publisher trading desk, Evgeny Popov, on board, along with Craig Newns-Smith, former eBay group sales manager. Jared Green, one-time Microsoft Test manager. Ninemsn Jarrod Green, formerly of Kinected and before that ad operations lead across the Microsoft Media Network, at Ninemsn - also McCabe's former employer - has already signed up to embed the platform.
McCabe said one of the elements that is attracting publishers, rights holders and brands alike is the platform's ability to monetise social, following what people are looking at and sharing with friends around the web, outside of traditional channels.
