SYDNEY: Pelikan Artline have launched a print ad for a Memory Stick pen as part of the brand's April Fools Day campaign.
The print ads, by BCM Sydney, promote the Artline Memory Stick pen that digitally records everything you write or draw on a 2GB built-in flash drive.
The ads appear in today's Australian and Sydney Morning Herald and are supported online through the brand's Facebook page.
The ads read: "The Artline Memory Stick digitally records everything you write or draw on a 2GB built-in flash drive. Forget the worry of losing the shopping list or the scrap of paper with that vital name or number on it. You can download it all later - as you wrote it, or in the typeface of your choice. How's that for back-up?"
It's the second time Artline has run April Fools Day ads. Last year it generated publicity with ads for a pen with built in microchip tracking so users could locate lost pens via the online tracking device.
BCM Sydney general manager Simon Jarvis said, "Based on the fuss these ads created last year and the $200,000 worth of free media they generated, it was impossible to resist the temptation to take it to a whole new level this year and really have some fun".
