V Australia goes large at Sydney Airport

SYDNEY: V Australia has snapped up an exclusive 12-month contract on a massive 200-metre long billboard at Sydney airport, claimed by APN Outdoor to be the largest in Australia.

The billboard sits atop an eight-storey car park and consists of two panels 100m long and more than 5m high. APN said the site was 42 times the size of a standard super site.

The billboard is the result of media agency Mitchell & Partners Brisbane and V Australia's request to “create a bold statement with maximum visual impact close to the airport.” APN had already planned the billboard's construction, but brought it forward at the request of V Australia.

Michelle Lee, general manager marketing for V Australia, said the airline's modest advertising budget meant it needed to “come up with new and fresh ways to showcase our airline and maximise impact and dollar spend”.

V Australia is running its “Fly Girls” creative on the site, which launched today (20 July).
