Latham uses Gough's slogan

MELBOURNE: Labor Leader Mark Latham will use Gough Whitlam’s "It’s Time" slogan as he prepares to push for election funds.

Latham’s choice of words is a direct copy of Whitlam’s famous campaign from 1972. A glossy black, white and orange advertising campaign has been sent to Australia’s top business men and women for a 5 August Labor fundraising dinner in Sydney.

The Labor pamphlet says “Opportunity for all Australians” and lists the high-profile guests to attend the fundraiser.

Business people are being asked to pay up to $11,000 a table to be hosted by Little Pattie and others for the Sydney fundraiser, according to today’s Herald Sun.
