PERTH: The West Australian hit newsstands last month with a fresh look in a bid to turn around flailing circulation.Peter Stevens, GM sales & marketing, said the redesign had been in the pipeline for a Òconsiderable timeÓ. ÒThe key issue was to look bright and more contemporary. Early indications are that itÕs been a success,Ó he said. The paper is promoting the redesign with a campaign by Keith Ellis Advertising. The agency picked up the project in a pitch against The WestÕs rostered agency, Marketforce. ÒIt was a competitive pitch and we liked what we saw,Ó Stevens said. Marketforce, however, retains the account.
