Sapient to acquire Nitro

By AdNews | 5 June 2009

BOSTON: US-based interactive IT consulting company, Sapient, is set to acquire Nitro Group, which includes CumminsNitro in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

However, the move, set to be finalised later in the year, is unlikely to see much change of the Australian operation.

CumminsNitro is spearheaded by Sean Cummins who entered the Nitro fold in October 2007 when 50% of the Cummins & Partners business was sold to the New York headquartered company.

CumminsNitro has this year been widely acclaimed for its digital campaign for “The World’s Best Holiday” and the link with the technology company is likely to be a comfortable fit.

Boston-based Sapient offers a combination of marketing and IT strategy, media analysis, web and system design, and support services and was recognised last week (11 June) by an independent research firm, Forrester Research, as a leader in the field.

Sapient has 6500 staff across the globe but doesn’t have a representation in Australia.
