Best ads of all time

SYDNEY: Voting for the best Australian TV ad of all time will kick off on the AdNews website on Friday 16 June. Industry players and members of the public will have 10 days to choose the winning ad from a shortlist of 10.

Well-known TVCs such as How d'ya Feel? for Tooheys by Mo and Jo, Sic 'em Rex for Antz Pantz, Louie the Fly for Reckitt & Colman and Carlton Draught's Big Ad are among the top 10.

A panel of advertising luminaries, including John Singleton, Jack Vaughan, Mo and Jo, Bryce Courtenay and Rob Belgiovane, nominated a collection of 50 TVCs, from which the Top 10 was chosen. A booklet featuring the 50 best TV ads of all time will appear in next week's issue of AdNews, on sale the day voting goes live: Friday 16 June.

For the chance to win a Samsung plasma TV valued at $3,000, visitors to the site will be able to nominate their favourite ad and explain why they think it's the best ad of all time in 25 words or less. The competition is a joint initiative of Free TV and AdNews.

Voting closes at midnight Monday 26 June. The best TV ad of all time, along with a ranking of the Top 10 as determined by the vote, will be published in the 30 June edition of AdNews.
