Is this really still happening? The Salvation Army points out the modern day slavery we turn a blind eye to.

“In such a young country as Australia, the concept of slavery is a challenging one to grasp,” said Toast Creative managing director Nicholas Sammut.

“We are all familiar with the terms 'trafficking' and 'forced labour', but sadly slavery's modern day definition also extends to abusive living and working conditions, threats, isolation and control, psychological abuse, violence and sexual abuse.”

The Salvation Army's latest spot, from its Freedom Partnership initiative, is titled 'The Freedom Pledge' and deals with difficult issues that are hard to imagine still happen today.

The campaign is running across digital and social media over two years.
