Countdown of Awesome: Christmas, Kiwis and cats

12 December 2013

Yep, you guessed it, the ad world has gone Christmas mad but don’t worry Kiwis and cats are always on trend. Here's the latest Countdown of Awesome.

5) West Jet

West Jet makes wishes to Santa come true. We are mostly impressed with how much effort these guys went to. What on the surface seems like a great simple idea is clearly an epic logistics nightmare.

4) Bristol Christmas lights

It turns out this is a fake. It’s a pity; it would have made an awesome tongue and cheek campaign for Bristol tourism if it were real.

3) German Traffic lights

Gamified traffic crossing encourages pedestrians not to jaywalk. It incorporates a timer for both green and red and lets you play Pong against another person across the street.

2) Lifejackets for life

Getting fishermen and sailors to wear lifejackets is difficult. Almost all of them understand its safer to wear a lifejacket but at the same time think that as long as they have a jacket in the boat with them they don’t necessarily need to wear it all the time. This piece of content is brilliant at putting the need to wear a jacket in context with some Miami Vice style one liners and dramatic slow motion cries of distress.

1) Christmas cats TV

Who knew cat adoption agencies were such pioneers? We had the Uber cat delivery service and now another pearler with Christmas cats TV. The interactive cat experience is now over but you can still enjoy recorded footage of the cats in all their neat little cat sweaters.
