The third instalment in a comedic approach to pre-arranging your own funeral.
Perth & Canberra creative agency Lateral Aspect has unveiled 'Ghost Hands’ for WA funeral directors William Barrett & Sons.
The ad is the third instalment in a comedic approach to the otherwise dark subject of pre-arranging your own funeral.
The first two commercials featured William Barrett & Sons CEO Adrian Barrett who was also chair of (AFDA) Australian Funeral Directors Association.
Lateral account director, Joanne Wells, said the strategic aim of the work was to get more people talking about funerals and to consider ‘getting in front of the game’ in a light, positive manner.
“We are very lucky to have a client like Barrett’s who, whilst absolutely taking their work seriously, understand from a communications point of view that there is probably a greater degree of cut-through using humour to engage with an audience, that otherwise wouldn’t be thinking about funerals, let alone speaking about them.” she said.
“Adrian took his actors hat off for this iteration, but he and wife, Taryn, were very engaged and instrumental in helping us to nail the brief for our creative team."
The spot was written by Lateral’s Group Creative Director, Mark Lucas who again teamed up with R Squared Pictures Director, Ian Reiser.
