New Zealand telco Spark celebrates voice technology in this adorable and funny spot.
If you pee in the pool, will the water really change colour? Can a stork really carry a baby? Does the internet really turn off at 7pm every night?
These hard questions and more are tackled in the latest campaign by NZ telco and tech firm Spark.
But rather than take the word of their parents for such wisdom – kids these days talk to their phone, painting a slightly disturbing scene of how the ‘voice generation’ will work out life’s little difficulties.
The 60-second spot, by oen of New Zealand’s top shops Colenso BBDO, is charming and funny with a wonderfully cute punch line at the end.
The launch film will be followed by out of home, a social campaign and a series of 15-second films focusing on each of the children.
“Today’s kids are going to grow up with voice assistants as a normal part of their lives, just like 90s kids did with mobile phones, and 80s kids with the internet. Voice is another leap forward in the opportunities this generation is going to have, and that’s incredibly exciting to us,” Spark brand COE lead Sarah Williams said.
Colenso BBDO creative director Mike Davison added: “There’s this magic age range between about four and seven years old, when kids are still learning to read, but are weirdly more tech-savvy than many grown-ups. This is where the power of voice comes alive.”
There’s no doubt about that magic age and children’s curiosity, but AdNews is not so sure pool water does not change colour when little ones relieve themselves.
