The University of Newcastle’s latest campaign champions the global impact and achievements of its students.

The University of Newcastle has launched the continuation of its “The World Needs New” campaign with a film based on student achievements.

The 60-second clip, created by Special Group, features past and present students and professors and a wide range of accomplishments, including research into pancreatic cancer treatment using sea sponges, and the implementation of virtual reality into midwife training.

“We were delighted to provide nearly 30 of our students, researchers and alumni an opportunity to tell their story, and participate in the production of the film,” says University of Newcastle chief marketing officer Tracy Chalk.

“It’s a wonderful reflection of their work, and the University’s real-world approach to student experience.”

The film was shot in the Hunter region and aims to demonstrate the global impact that students and alumni can have.

“We wanted to give the University a more active role in their global impact stories, ensuring that it includes not just tangible breakthroughs, but the creative, open-minded approach that got them there,” says Special Group ECD and partner Tom Martin.

“It gives prospective students a clearer idea of the personal and potential global benefits of studying at UON.”

The campaign will also run across cinema, outdoor, social, digital and print.
