The campaign's 10th instalment.
A tranquil lakeside location transforms into a high-octane holiday park with the release of automotive retailer Supercheap Auto’s latest Make Every Trip Super with the Best Performing Oils campaign.
The campaign series celebrates its tenth instalment by doubling down on the hijinks and high stakes in a seven-minute film created by TAXI Film Production and Chimera Project.
The 2024 campaign is set at the idyllic Lake Redline Holiday Park – a holiday hot spot created especially for the film at Queensland’s Lakeside Park racetrack – where the peaceful serenity is shattered by five pairs of “holidaymakers” gunning for a prime waterfront camping site.
Adding to the excitement, their vehicles are also kitted out with tinnies, caravans and roof racks stacked high with holiday essentials.
The stars of the show are Supercheap Auto’s 'Best Performing Oils' – Nulon, Penrite, Valvoline, Mobil and Castrol – taken through their paces by Supercars and motorsport stars Chaz Mostert, Ryan Wood, Molly Taylor, Rick Kelly, Matt Mingay, James Golding, Garth Tander, Matthew Payne, James Moffat and Michael Guest.
Building on the casts of past films, drivers, celebrities, and sports stars make 64 cameo appearances including Grant Denyer and Craig Lowndes, DJ Carl Cox and Skid Factory’s Woody (Ben Wood) in a Mr Zippy ice-cream truck; Charli Robinson, and Corey Parker.
Also bringing mayhem to the holiday park are Marty and Moog, hosts of the Mighty Car Mods YouTube channel, which shows its audience how to customise and improve the performance of their vehicles.
Supercars driver Broc Feeney said that for all its thrills and spills, reliability lies at the heart of every Best Performing Oils campaign.
“Whether you’re driving to work, heading to the race track or going on a road trip with your mates, the right parts and the best-performing engine oils are essential to maintain a safe vehicle,” Feeney said.
“I’m lucky enough to have the support of my awesome team at Triple Eight Race Engineering to look after my supercar at the track, but off-track, I rely on Supercheap Auto to keep my daily car running super.
“Like race cars, car maintenance is super important for safety and fuel efficiency, which ultimately helps keep your car running for longer.”
Chimera Project creative directors Brendan Greaney and Jonathan Drapes said it was a thrill to hit the accelerator for the 10th film in the annual creative campaign.
“Every year, hundreds of thousands of auto fans wait to see the next Supercheap Auto Best Performing Oils film. The pressure is on to make it more entertaining,” Drapes and Greaney said.
“A holiday park is a great excuse for full-throttle fun: tight streets, keen campers, outrageous stunts, inflatable flamingos and lots of easter eggs for auto fans.”
Adding a high-octane twist to the holiday park are Trophy Trucks towing caravans, drift cars with roof racks and race cars pulling off power slides while towing a tinnie.
The campaign, supported by PR and influencer engagement, launches nationally at 8am AEST on Thursday, July 4, 2024, across TV, digital and social.
