The inspirational story of Liverpool great Kenny Dalglish now comes in a children's interactive e-book.
Global bank Standard Chartered has launched an interactive children's book commemorating the life of one of the greatest football players to grace English football, Kenny Dalglish.
The book and accompanying short film form part of the season-long content series created by Interpublic Group agency Octagon for the bank to celebrate Liverpool FC’s 125th Anniversary.
Dalgish, known in football circles as 'King Kenny', is widely regarded as the greatest player in Liverpool FC history and won three European Cups and six first division titles during his time on Merseyside.
Standard Chartered is the principal sponsor of the club, which recently secured passage to another Champions League final (previously known as the European Cup) against Real Madrid on 26 May.
Interpublic's Octagon created the e-Book, Milkmoney produced the video.
The beautifully illustrated book tells the inspirational story of King Kenny growing up in Glasgow and lighting up Celtic Park before his move to Liverpool, where he formed a lethal partnership with Ian Rush.
Emma Sheller, global head of brand and marketing at Standard Chartered, said the book and accompanying video is the “type of legacy Standard Chartered wants to support our clients to leave behind for their own generations to come”.
“Kenny Dalglish is a man who has inspired LFC and its fans across generations. His passion, experience and influence has reached the hearts of many, and we created this children’s book and short film to celebrate this legacy.”
Octagon regional creative director Lizi Hamer added: “We developed a stunning story book for parents to enjoy with their children as they discuss and teach meaningful life lessons.
“Kenny’s story is an inspiration for all - pushing us to strive for greatness, hold strong on values and consider the creation of our own legacy. While written for children aged 6-12 years old, this book is suitable for all ages and we hope this story can reach all corners of the globe.”
