“We all know that our one true love is football, but this can often get a lot of fans in trouble this time of the year."
Optus Sport has the ladies and gents covered this Valentine’s Day with plenty of reminders for football fans to spoil their significant other when Sunday comes around.
Optus Sport has launched its ‘Fall in love with football campaign’, delivering plenty of Valentine’s Day themed puns, graphics and videos across the Optus Sport platform and social channels.
For Optus Sport’s head of TV and content, Corin Dimopoulos, it was great opportunity for the Optus Sport team to get creative and poke some fun at what can often be a prickly period for football fans.
“We all know that our one true love is football, but this can often get a lot of fans in trouble this time of the year,” Dimopoulous says.
“We just wanted to remind fans not to forget about their significant other this Valentine’s weekend, which might give them a little extra time watching their favourite teams.
“It’s also a great opportunity to show our Premier League stars in different light, with both players and coaches donning their best date night outfits for our match and social media graphics and on-air promos."
Richard Bayliss and the Countdown to Kick-off team are also getting into the spirit of things on Saturday evening.
Hosted from a Valentine’s themed studio, the show will feature greats Mark Schwarzer, John Aloisi, Michael Bridges and Scott McDonald decked out in their best ‘rose ceremony’ outfits for the pre-game coverage of Leicester’s loveless meeting with Liverpool.
