There is no shortage of good ol' Aussie spirit as stars unite for New Idea, with five cents from each magazine sold this week going to the charity Drought Angels.

Pacific Magazine's New Idea has shown what Aussie spirit is all about, launching a campaign in partnership with the charity Drought Angels to help Australia's drought-stricken communities.

Five cents from every issue sold this week will be donated to The Drought Angels, and although they describe themselves as a small charity, they have some pretty big wings.

The charity makes sure no farmer and their rural community goes unnoticed. It provides food hampers, care packs, prepaid Visas, local store vouchers, stock feed, hay, and most importantly, a shoulder to lean on when the going gets tough.

Featured in the issue showing their support are true blue icons Shannon Noll, Grant Denyer, Bridie Carter, Kylie Gillies, Larry Emdur, Tom Williams and Sally Obermeder.

To further raise money for The Drought Angels, on Saturday August 11, New Idea will also be supporting the event Dollars For Dust at Sydney's Hotel CBD.

Organised by Home and Away hair and make-up artist Sherri Meisner, Dollars For Dust will feature your favourite stars of the show, including Ray Meagher, Ada Nicodemou, Lynne McGranger and Sophie Dillman. Former Home And Away star Stephen Peacocke will also be in attendance.

New Idea's editor-in-chief Emma Nolan wants to show that she is there for her audience.

“So many of our readers and the communities they live in are doing it tough right now, and so we’ve joined forces with Drought Angels and some of our famous friends to make a difference in their lives" she says.

For $65 a ticket, you can help show just how far a dollar can go for these devastated communities while also having a cracker of a night. Visit to book your ticket today.
