Meat & Livestock Australia are targeting a new market; iron-deficient women.
On Wednesday Meat & Livestock Australia launched its latest campaign designed to educate young women on the health benefits of eating beef.
The ad, by One Green Bean, centres around professional hockey player Anna Flanagan and her emotional relationship with her dad and her fear of expressing how she feels towards him.
Enter Flanagan’s doppelganger, who has been transformed into a lookalike version of the athlete to show Flanagan how she can express her gratitude to her father.
The emotive ad is more subtle than what we usually see from MLA and the You're Better on Beef campaigns, and in our eyes, doesn’t quite get the point across in the 4:31min video on Facebook.
The ad was intended to demonstrate in an emotive way how beef can give women the energy they need to conquer their fears.
Instead, they have produced an ad that makes us want to give our dads a hug.
Maybe time to bring back the Honey Badger.
