Microsoft's latest product launch soars to new heights

The tech giant took to the skies to launch its new Surface Pro model.

To celebrate the consumer launch of Microsoft's Surface Pro with 4G, the brand has partnered with local DJ and music producer, Basenji, for an Australian first – a live music set in a hot air balloon.

Basenji took his entire studio into the clouds to produce, perform and post a custom mix to SoundCloud, all while being suspended from the hot air balloon at 3,000ft.

The stunt was designed to draw attention the product's 4G capabilities by having Basenji perform and recorded the full mix using the Surface Pro then post the 35-minute mix to SoundCloud, all while up in the air.

A video of the experience was recorded as part of the campaign with the exclusive “Up in the Air Mix” from Basenji made available on his SoundCloud.
