British American Tobacco has kicked off a marketing push opposing the government's proposed plain cigarette packaging laws.

Created by G2, "The Real Cost" campaign claims the government has no proof that plain pack cigarettes would reduce smoking rates and that they would be spending millions of taxpayer dollars on legal fees.

The campaign launches today across radio, print and outdoor.
