Ditch the book and get with the digital times. That's the message from restaurant online booking platform Dimmi in its new campaign, #DitchTheBook.
Through a series of online videos, Dimmi is urging restaurant owners to get rid of their outdated pen and paper booking diary and get online – and better connect with their diners.
'Fishbowl' is one of the first online videos, highlighting the perils of trying to remember who's dined at your restaurant in the past without an easy online bookings system to check.
Stevan Premutico, CEO of Dimmi, said: “We set out to take our industry out of an analogue world and into a digital era and to connect the industry better than ever before.
“Today we are stepping up our fight with #DitchTheBook, which aims to rid our industry of one of our biggest issues – the big black book. It's at the very heart of all of our issues. It's the cause of low margins, poor customer recognition, inefficient operations, high labour costs, high no-shows, lost bookings, quiet nights, empty databases and a significant rift between us and our digital diners.”
