Christmas time is done and dusted. Santa has made his rounds, with children around the world enjoying their Christmas gifts. Except, not all children will experience a pleasant Christmas.
Barnardos Australia follows up its poignant Christmas TVC ads, with a new print ad followed with the tag line 'Christmas isn't Christmas for Everyone.'
The print ads created by DDB Remedy looks at Christmas lights, aiming to contrast between holiday cheer and the abuse that is occurring in many homes.
Deputy ECD at DDB Sydney, Darwin Tomlinson said, “Child abuse, unfortunately, is an everyday issue and has been directly addressed many times before but to varying degrees of success. By utilising something as seemingly joyful as Christmas lights, there is a bait and switch. These acts happen behind closed doors and are often easily overlooked or ignored because they interrupt our pleasant reality. We wanted to turn that interruption the other way around.”
