Act for Peace, the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches of Australia, has launched its annual "Christmas Bowl" appeal.
Created by not-for-profit specialist creative agency Room3, the community service announcement attempts to move away from the traditional "doom and gloom" approach with a fresh perspective on excessive Christmas consumerism.
Funds raised help provide food, shelter, peace-building programs, land clearance of unexploded bombs and other assistance to people in conflict and disaster-affected countries around the world, including Burma, Ethiopia and the new nation of South Sudan.
