Sensis pitching media

Sensis is pitching its media business, AdNews understands.

The company, which this morning announced it was taking digital in house and launching its own agency, called Found, with ex-MediaCom Melbourne boss Peter Barrie at the helm, is mulling up to four agencies which are vying for media planning and buying services.

OMD has handled the Telstra business since winning it in 2006 when James Greet was at the helm. It spent some $73m in main media in calendar year 2013 according to Nielsen estimates, which exclude search and social. It is thought that the Sensis part of the business accounted for around 10% of that total.

Earlier this year Telstra completed the sale of 70% of the Sensis business to California-based firm Platinum Equity.

Sensis could not be reached for comment prior to publication.

Trinity P3 is involved in the pitch.

Updated: OMD confirmed it was not pitching for the remainder of the media business. Article amended to reflect that.
