SYDNEY: The Communications Council, the advertising industry body, has reappointed Host chief executive Anthony Freedman, as chairman of its board of directors.
Freedman will be joined by Publicis Mojo co-chairman and chief creative officer Craig Davis was appointed co-Deputy chairman with BMF executive planning director Jeremy Nicholas.
Six new industry, creative and specialist industry leaders were also elected to the national board, following its annual general meeting yesterday.
The newly elected board members are: CHE chief executive Mark Coad, M&C Saatchi worldwide chairman Tom Dery, OMD managing partner Peter Horgan, Amnesia Razorfish executive creative director Iain McDonald and DDB Melbourne executive creative director Grant Rutherford and Publicis Mojo co-chair and chief creative officer Craig Davis.
“It is a great outcome for The Communications Council to have assembled a board of extremely experienced agency leaders including representatives with global and regional, as well as local responsibilities. This team places the Council in an exceptional position, to be able to tackle the wide range of issues and needs of our diverse membership.” Freedman said.
In March, the Communications Council appointed ex-political advisor Daniel Leesong as chief executive.
