Media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is close to appointing a creative agency for the launch of its streaming service Max after a pitch process, AdNews can reveal.
The shortlist is understood to include DDB, Clemenger BBDO, Special and Emotive.
Insiders say the process moved very quickly.
A WBD spokesperson told AdNews the brand is "looking forward to launching Max in Australia this year and working with talented agencies to do so".
EssenceMediacom was appointed to WBD's media account earlier this month to lead the launch of the streaming service.
The competitor to Netflix and Stan, owns content slates such as HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe and the Cartoon Network.
The Australian streaming ecosystem is already competitive which has pushed down advertising prices.
