American advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy has been added to McDonald's Australia's roster as an additional creative agency partner, AdNews can reveal.
Wieden+Kennedy has confirmed plans to set up an outpost in Sydney to service the McDonald’s business.
"The appointment sees the highly successful creative company join our award-winning agency village, which aims to continue to deliver compelling and successful campaigns to drive our brand and business forward," a McDonald's spokesperson told AdNews.
Westpac creative pitch back to start in new twist
Big four bank Westpac's creative pitch process is moving into a new phase, described as a restart by insiders, AdNews can reveal.
Industry insiders close to the pitch say the process, after many months of briefing, whittled down to two.
After giving the final two a new briefing, Westpac was said to put the process on hold.
In late December, Westpac then backtracked by re-inviting the shortlist of five agencies to re-pitch as the brand was said to be starting the process over again, AdNews understands.
Furniture design company King Living has appointed UM Australia its new global media agency, AdNews can reveal.
UM Australia will serve as a central point of contact for King Living from its Sydney office, overseeing media strategies that cater to both local and international audiences.
Leveraging its global network, UM will work closely with its counterparts across various regions to ensure cultural nuances and market-specific needs are incorporated into every campaign.
IPG Mediabrands takes Volvo account
IPG Mediabrands has won Volvo’s media account, with reported global ad spend of $US500 million.
“Excited to welcome Volvo to our family,” said Eileen Kiernan, global CEO at IPG Mediabrands.
Mindshare was the incumbent.
L'Oréal appoints six after social creative pitch
French beauty giant L’Oréal Groupe ANZ has appointed six agencies after a four-stage social services creative tender, AdNews can confirm.
While over the past two months some agencies have announced individual appointments, the complete roster includes 2045 Studios, M&C Saatchi, Clemenger, The Content Works, Hotglue a part of Havas and Tag Worldwide a part of Dentsu.
The pitch, which involved a undisclosed number of agencies across Australia and New Zealand, was run by the brand's local procurement.
EssenceMediacom wins Warner Bros. Discovery Max pitch
EssenceMediacom has been appointed by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to lead the launch of the Max steaming service in Australia.
The agency will be responsible for leading media strategy, planning, implementation and measurement. It will also support WBD’s in-house team across biddable channels.
Warner Bros. Discovery Max creative pitch close to a decision
Media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is close to appointing a creative agency for the launch of its streaming service Max after a pitch process, AdNews can reveal.
The shortlist is understood to include DDB, Clemenger BBDO, Special and Emotive.
Insiders say the process moved very quickly.
Porsche Cars Australia has appointed Dig as its creative agency following an extensive pitch process.
The incumbent DDB Melbourne first won the account in 2015, retaining the business in 2019.
Nunn Media wins SunRice account
Nunn Media has been appointed strategic media partner for food brand SunRice following a competitive pitch.
The independent agency will take the lead role in managing media planning and buying for the brand across Australia and New Zealand.
Chinese automotive maker Geely Auto has chosen Havas Media to be the media arm of its agency Village, joining sister agency Havas Host which has responsibility for creative and social media.
Dentsu leads PR and website development.
Havas Media is working on Geely’s first consumer engagement campaign in Australia. Focused on creating meaningful connections across digital, social and OOH channels, leveraging Automotive expertise and data-driven media strategies to showcase Geely's innovation, smart technology, and competitive edge.
Data, creative and performance marketing agency Jaywing has been appointed by InvoCare - a provider of funeral, memorial, and pet cremation services in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore - to drive customer acquisition and deliver customer experiences across its digital assets.
Jaywing was selected following a pitch and will lead digital services including web analytics, website design and development, as well as paid media and conversion rate optimisation, leveraging Invocare’s Adobe Experience Manager.
