Bigfatradio shuts without ad support

By AdNews | 20 October 2000
SYDNEY: Internet radio station Bigfatradio.com has gone belly-up after just five months, when funding and investor interest proved inadequate to keep the company running. Co-founder of Bigfatradio, Chris Gilbey, pointed to poor support from advertisers who were Òunable to understand streaming mediaÓ. He also blamed unfav-ourable economic conditions, turning anti-dot-com soon after the stationÕs arrival. Its celebrity presenters, including Debbie Spillane and Angela Catterns, could not keep it from joining the list of crashing Net companies.
