Young Gun John Dawson is heading overseas with Initiative joining the Denmark office while he completes his MBA at Copenhagen Business School.

Dawson, who is the communications design director at Initiative Sydney, will take on the parallel role at Initative, called IUM in Denmark, working on global accounts Lego and Carlsberg.

Copenhagen Business School invited Dawson to the program in recognition of the many accolades he's earned over the years, including being named one of AdNews Top 30 Emerging Leaders in 2018.

Initiative Australia chief strategy officer Sam Geer said the agency is proud of Dawson for taking opportunity to complete his studies and expand his already impressive education.

"He’s been a driving force behind our transition to a culture-based agency and we are delighted to offer him this special arrangement. We’re in close touch and looking forward to welcoming him home when he’s completed his MBA mission," he said.

Dawson has been at Initiative for two years and has also held roles at Ensemble, Mindshare and GroupM.
