How do you grab the attention of thousands of tech-savvy teens?

Melbourne agency Hardhat Digital is giving it a go this weekend, with a mega video wall at Deakin University's open day.

The digital agency is behind a 'Super Happy Prize Time' activation that will launch at the 2014 open day on Sunday.

It comprises a 15-screen video wall set up as a games board that students can interact with using their mobile phone, entering co-ordinates to win prizes.

The activation is integrated with Facebook and is being presented by Deakin University's Social Media Command and Innovation Centre.

Matt Edge, head of digital marketing at Deakin University, said: “Open day is all about prospective students finding out if Deakin is right for them. Deakin prides itself on providing innovative learning experiences but also with the creative ways we connect with students. Super Happy Prize Time is a fun example of how Deakin uses digital and social channels to connect.”

Dan Monheit, director of strategy at Hardhat Digital, added: “Any brief that starts with 10,000 tech savvy teens in the same place at the same time is going to be interesting, and with Deakin's appetite for pushing the boundaries we knew we had to go big.”

Super Happy Prize Time launches at the Waurn Ponds campus on Sunday, followed by Burwood on 24 August.
