Elon Musk, the world’s richest person with a net worth of $US273 billion, has started to reveal what he wants from his recent purchase of a large holding in the social media platform.

Musk bought 9% of the company, holding 73 million Twitter shares, valued at $2.9 billion, to make the entrepreneur the largest shareholder, even more than founder Jack Dorsey.

Since then, he’s been given a seat on the board of directors.

And he’s started to Tweet about Twitter.

In a  survey, Musk asks: “Convert Twitter SF HQ to homeless shelter since no one shows up anyway.”

And then about subscribers: “Everyone who signs up for Twitter Blue (ie pays $3/month) should get an authentication checkmark.”

And subscribers shouldn’t see ads. “The power of corporations to dictate policy is greatly enhanced if Twitter depends on advertising money to survive.”

And he points out that many high profile Twitter accounts “tweet rarely and post very little content”.

“Is Twitter dying? For example, Taylor Swift hasn’t posted anything in 3 months. And Justin Bieber only posted once this entire year.”
