EXCLUSIVE: The Victorian Government is gearing up for a tender of its media contracts, currently held by Mitchell & Partners and ZenithOptimedia, which are due to expire in August.
Mitchell & Partners holds the advertising services contract, while ZenithOptimedia handles recruitment services. Both contracts expire on 31 August.
A Victorian Government spokesperson declined to comment on when a tender will open, saying she was bound by “strict probity restraints”.
It is expected the new Liberal government will slash advertising expenditure in a move to differentiate itself from its predecessor in its first term.
The Brumby Labor government oversaw large departmental spending increases in 2010, which according to some critics, was to improve its re-election prospects.
