Verizon Media has made two new senior appointments within the Australia and New Zealand market.
Luke Burr has been promoted to head of sales for Victoria.
Burr joined Verizon Media in June 2017, and has held the role of group sales manager for the last two years.
This latest promotion is a recognition of his leadership on various projects and initiatives that are driving the Melbourne market.
In his new role Burr will be responsible for leading the Melbourne sales team.
He will hold commercial responsibility for Verizon Media’s premium media brands including HuffPost, Yahoo News, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Sport and Yahoo Lifestyle in addition to its full range of advertiser solutions including RYOT Studio, Verizon Media DSP and Verizon Media Native Solutions.
He will continue to report into national sales director Rachel Page.
“I am very proud of what the Verizon Media Melbourne team has achieved to date and believe we’re punching above our weight," Burr says.
"I look forward to continuing the momentum in the Victorian market delivering outstanding results for our client partners.”
Alba Marco has also joined the local Verizon Media Ad Platforms team.
Marco has transferred within the business from London to Sydney, into the newly created role of senior platform demand partner - exchange and supply.
She will be responsible for onboarding premium publishers to the Verizon Media Exchange adding to Verizon Media's owned and operated content marketplace with video, native and display partners.
Verizon Media ANZ national sales director Rachel Page says the company is committed to recognising talent and supporting new opportunities.
“This move rewards Luke’s hard work and commitment as well as the respect and reputation he’s built as the leading client partner in the Melbourne market," Page says.
"We’re also very excited to welcome Alba onto our team and utilise her international experience in mature markets to build our local offering across the growing platforms side of our business.”
The two moves are the latest in a series of promotions and new hires as Verizon Media looks to bolster its leadership and depth of talent in the market.
Last month Julia Edwards and Nick Gorshenin joined the business as part of the RYOT Studio team.
