UM has retained the NBN Co media account following a competitive pitch.

The account is said to be worth around $20 million but NBN is planning to significantly upweight its investment in marketing and media spend over the next year as it looks to boost its standing with consumers.

UM is understood to have beat off competition from DentsuAegis’ Mitchell & Partners and Mindshare, part of GroupM. It is understood that NBN is planning to ramp up its investment in branding, where it has previously focused on local marketing activations.

NBN Co also recently appointed BWM to its creative account and is plotting a switch in focus.
