Tourism Australia and The Wiggles have partnered to inspire Australia's tiny travellers and their families to Holiday Here This Year.
The Wiggles will also release a new song and YouTube content series aimed at teaching children how they can become future guardians of Australia by holidaying the Wiggly Way.
Tourism Australia is also an official partner of an nationwide Wiggles Tour in 2022.
A new book called The Great Australian Wiggly Road Trip! will allow children to follow The Wiggles as they travel across each state and territory, spotting Aussie animals.
“We are so incredibly excited to be partnering with Tourism Australia in such a monumental year for The Wiggles and a unique time in history,” says Anthony Field, Blue Wiggle and founder of The Wiggles.
“There has never been a more important time to explore Australia than now and who better to do it with than Tourism Australia! We are so excited to share some of the great locations that Australia offers! There’s so much to see and do right here in our own backyard!”
Susan Coghill, Tourism Australia's CMO, says the partnership will also help to support Australia’s reputation internationally.
“Families with younger kids are a critical part of the Australian visitor economy, and key to returning the domestic tourism industry to sustainable growth," she says.
"As a segment they are the second most valuable cohort in Australia. (23% of total trips and 28% of total expenditure, National Visitors Survey, March 2021).
“To help Aussie parents to plan their next holiday, whilst also engaging the youngest of travellers, we’ve created a new dedicated family hub on Australia.com full of tips, games and inspiration. In the coming months, we’ll also be rolling out a new dynamic story generator where kids will be able to insert themselves into their own personalised Aussie adventure with The Wiggles. A sure fire way to inspire families to take a trip.”
To engage the youngest of travellers, a Wiggles-themed family hub has launched on Australia.com.
The new kids hub will house videos, A to Z Australian animal flip cards, a bingo game, and a story generator that will allow kids to create a Wiggly adventure story personalised to them. Parents will also find tips and inspiration to plan a family-friendly holiday in Australia.
“Tourism Australia is thrilled to partner with The Wiggles to inspire families with young children to plan and book their next domestic holiday,” says Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison.
“We know how precious holidays with young children can be and hope our partnership with The Wiggles leads to family holidays that become lifelong memories.”
“The Wiggles are now into their 30th year and they are universally loved by generations which is why we are also welcoming them into Tourism Australia’s Friends of Australia program, for all the work they have done, and will continue to do, to promote Australia to the world.”
