AdNews last year launched the WFH Diaries during the depths of the fallout from the pandemic, a way of sharing how people were spending their days.

This time we're asking for a run down on how everyone likes to start their day working from home. Some dress to impress, others slip on the t-shirt.

And everyone has their own way to carve the day into manageable chunks.

Sal Daoud, National Head of Sales, Captive Vision Outdoor (CVO):

It's an early wake-up call with my two early risers, who are all about ABC kids. Particularly Bluey. Sort the kids with breakfast; then it's straight into the garage for a quick hit of cardio or pending weather conditions (especially in Melbourne). It's a brisk walk to get creative thoughts flowing before I start my day.

Screaming kids during a conference call is my biggest distraction. Even though the kids are on the other side of the house, their high pitched screams travel and can be heard quite clearly to the audience on the other side.

I like to take the kids for a walk to the park, it breaks up the day nicely, and get some much needed fresh air. The big blue sky can shift your mindset and revitalise your creativity, and better the mood.

I encourage you to get up from the desk and walk while on the phone. Without the usual office distractions, you can find yourself sitting at the desk for hours on end. Walking around the house whilst on business calls, can help you stay active and give you clear space from the PC. Oh, and lots of water, stay hydrated, people!

Being in my 6th lockdown, I'm not putting too much pressure on myself. We are in a unique situation where we cannot control the outcome, but we can control our emotions better. Lockdowns don't get easier, but finding ways to get through the day has, and it's about being creative with how you structure your days and using these opportunities to connect with your family.
