AdNews last year launched the WFH Diaries during the depths of the fallout from the pandemic, a way of sharing how people managed their days.
This time, with lockdown running again, we're asking for a run down on how everyone likes to start their day working from home. Some dress to impress, others slip on the t-shirt. And everyone has their own way to carve the day into manageable chunks.
Oliver Rapson, CEO, iProspect:
"I'm a radio guy. My radio switches on at 6am every day without fail, ABC news gently fills my brain with wonderful lockdown news and other daily gems.
"Not too long after that both my kids hop in with me and we get to have a good cuddle and chat, a covid luxury now that I don’t have an hour and a half commute to the office.
"Making breakfast, and a strong coffee, is key to kicking off the day. The routine of checking how the day is going to play out via my calendar is also key.
"I don’t have many openings in my diary, but if I do I ensure I fill it with some sort of walk, or low level exercise. It's too easy to sit still motionless for 8 hours if not prompted to move. At the end of the day it's about getting out of my jeans and into shorts and thongs. This is an indicator that business is over and family time begins.
"I'm a people person, so I miss the team and the general banter of an office environment, that being said, the benefits of spending a lot more time with my family, particularly at such a young age, is priceless. I'll be looking to balance these two out as we come back to normality – hopefully very soon!"
Oliver Rapson is passionate about wine and viticulture. He lives in the Macedon Ranges in regional Victoria and owns a small boutique winery.
