AdNews last year launched the WFH Diaries during the depths of the fallout from the pandemic, a way of sharing how people were spending their days.

This time we're asking for a run down on how everyone likes to start their day working from home. Some dress to impress, others slip on the t-shirt.

And everyone has their own way to carve the day into manageable chunks.

Mikey Hart, creative director at Hulsbosch:

His love of English football could be the clue to his creative fuel or is it the backbeat of The Rolling Stones?

"I start with a long walk with my dog, Indie, grab a coffee and take in the morning cool winter air. This really helps me clear my mind and get ready for the day ahead.

It will begin with a quick work in progress meeting with my studio team to keep us on track. Also, it's a chance to see each other - albeit onscreen - and share a story or two.

I schedule my day as much a as possible. I structure it around who needs my attention for creative inputs and reviews and keep time aside for my own responsibilities.

Whilst working on a brand project I often have long video calls with colleagues, and I keep them onscreen in the background. I try to recreate the idea of us being physically together and collaborating live to exchange thoughts, ideas, and have some banter whilst we are designing.

To cheer me and cheer on my team I dress to fit an inspiring sports agenda and feature my team The Spurs. They will see me on video calls in my extensive collection of Tottenham Hotspur football jerseys. New Coach for the team and a new Premier League football season starts August 15. Can't wait.

I take an hour for lunch most days and I make a point of this even in the office. Exercise is a great energy and mental boost and I will go for a 6km run or long walk.

On the days when I have the kids for home schooling I like being prepared. I tend to task my boys on several ‘creative briefs’ throughout the day, mixing Maths and English with a mini creative project. I get left to work and they have fun learning and making things at their own pace. It’s the creative director in me that seems to work a treat for them!

One great thing about working from home is that I can turn the music up as loud as I like. I focus better with music on. My favourite track for my studio at home is the iconic hit "It's Only Rock 'N Roll (But I Like It)" by the legends that are The Rolling Stones. I would love a ticket to their No Filter Tour announced for the US this year.
