West Coast Coolers are back in a campaign, Cool Since '84, filmed as a throwback music video with everything cool and kitschy about the 80s but with a modern twist.

Featuring in the video is reality star Abbie Chatfield, stylist Millie Sykes, ex-triple j duo Linda Marigliano and Lewis McKirdy and RuPaul Drag Race stars Art Simone and Jojo Zaho.

The clip also features a revamped West Coast Cooler anthem by Donny Benét.

The video coincides with the introduction of a seltzer range, including flavours in mango and lime.

“We're thrilled to welcome this new era for West Coast Cooler," says Eric Thomson, Global Marketing Director, Pernod Ricard Winemakers.

"The brand's fresh look speaks to its retro roots while retaining the adored, original taste that West Coast fans know and love. With the seltzer category in Australia showing impressive growth, we are excited to launch our new lime and mango seltzers, aimed at recruiting the next wave of West Coast Cooler consumers in Australia.”

Cool Since '84 director Joel Burrows, of Entropico: "West Coast Cooler is back! Returning to its 80s roots. Beach balls, extreme frisbee and burning down the dance floor never gets old. I wish every campaign could be a music video, packed with talent who know how to dance."

Creative agency Thinking Loud: "Pernod Ricard tasked us with introducing an 80’s Australian icon West Coast Cooler to a new audience, while re-igniting the passion of its loyal following. We knew and loved the iconic 80s ad spots, so we wanted to honour those, while making it relevant for 2022.

"All of the Australians in our team know and love West Coast Cooler! West Coast Cooler is one of Pernod Ricard’s most beloved brands and somewhat of a sleeping giant, so we’re chuffed to ring in this new era with them."
