Game of Thrones goes live

HBO has elected to show the season premiere of Game of Thrones at exactly the same time worldwide, and Foxtel has confirmed that it's getting in on the action too.

The broadcasting giant confirmed the move overnight, which means the season five premiere will be shown in Australia at 11am on Monday 13 April on Foxtel channel Showcase.

The premiere will be simulcast in 170 countries around the world.

Ardent Leisure gets a new CEO

Ardent Leisure CEO Greg Shaw has retired, just as the entertainment group is in the middle of pitching its media.

Shaw will be replaced by Deborah Thomas of Australian Women's Weekly fame.

She was the editor of the publication for almost a decade, and will take up the executive role next month.

Facebook's emerging market play

Facebook is giving brands in emerging economies a direct hand with their creative work.

It has announced the start up of Creative Accelerator, a program designed to directly help brands do better creative on Facebook, with a key focus on mobile campaigns.

So far brands which have signed up include Durex in Indonesia, Nestle in India, and Coca-Cola in Kenya.
