Ten has moved forward the finale for Dancing with the Stars due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The reality dancing show, which began February 9, will air its grand finale a week early this Sunday.
Ten said the decision was made due to logistical challenges posed by the pandemic which has effectively shut state borders.
“The changes to domestic interstate travel imposed by both the Federal and State governments since Sunday, and the encroaching state border shutdowns, influenced our decision to move the finale forward,” a Ten spokesperson says.
This season’s Dancing with the Stars, the second on Ten, was down in ratings for the debut episode which attracted 593,000 metro viewers. The last episode to air, on March 22, attracted 482,000 metro viewers.
The coronavirus pandemic has been causing major disruption to television programming, with filming for shows such as Big Brother, Neighbours and Holey Moley all impacted.
