APN Outdoor has had its State Transit contract for Sydney Buses renewed for another five years.
The outdoor company has held the contract for more than two decades and the renewal means APN Outdoor’s retention of almost 2,000 buses across a dozen city depots including Brookvale, Waverly, Randwick, Leichhardt, North Sydney and Kingsgrove.
The news comes on the same day as CEO Richard Herring’s departure from the company was confirmed. He will exit the APN Outdoor end of September.
Herring says of the win: “As the predominant provider of Transit advertising across Australia, there is no doubt that this win is of strategic importance to APN Outdoor and our identity in the advertising market.
“Sydney Buses is one of the largest Outdoor contracts in Australia and securing it for a further five-year term is a credit to our tender response team,” he adds.
The tender is one of the biggest state accounts in NSW, however the state’s largest, the $500 million City of Sydney tender currently held by JCDecaux, is expected to be reviewed early next year.
