Super Scriven takes helm at ZenithOptimedia Melbourne

ZenithOptimedia has lured former Australian Super, NAB and News Limited marketer Nickie Scriven to the agency side of media. She's taken the Melbourne hot seat as MD.

The Melbourne agency market is in a period of flux in management terms. MindShare is still looking for someone to run its operation after MD Anathea Ruys left for Omnicom Singapore in May, meanwhile MediaCom Melbourne MD Peter Barrie quit the agency three weeks ago.

Scriven's appointment is therefore well-timed, although it could be that by the time she starts, 7 October, the other agencies have new leadership in place.

Scriven will also sit on the agency’s national executive board and reports to CEO of Australia and New Zealand Ian Perrin.

Perrin said: “As the agency for the open world, it’s critical for us to find leaders who have different backgrounds, skills and personalities, so I am absolutely thrilled that Nickie has decided to join our team. The calibre of her credentials shows, in no uncertain terms, the level of ambition we have for our business in Melbourne.”

Scriven said she would bring her experience working for brands and media to bear.

“I have always been absolutely passionate about media solutions, and hearing the vision ZenithOptimedia have for an open world, made me excited about what can be achieved. I truly believe the best solutions are developed through collaborative partnerships between the agency, the client and the media.

“Having worked on both the media and client side, I feel I will be able to give clients and the team a fresh perspective that will deliver the best possible results.”
