Showpony has gained White Ribbon accreditation.

White Ribbon Australia provides education on the issues relating to gender inequality, unconscious bias, coercive control, domestic and sexual violence and how workplaces can play a critical role in driving social change and ending men’s violence against women.

Showpony head of people and culture Ashley Maumill said the agency is doing something positive, active and valuable at a time where platitudes and good intentions are the norm.

“I’m proud to be a part of a team that is pursuing actual change," Maumill said.

Over the past eighteen months, Showpony has participated in monthly workshops and numerous group and individual training sessions, revised nearly all workplace policies and introduced a dozen new ones to help the agency align with the objectives of the White Ribbon initiative.

Showpony managing director Jamie Scott said there are many ways to impact community.

"When we understood that we can play an active role in ending gendered violence in Australia, we immediately signed up for White Ribbon training," Scott said.

"We’re really proud of our progress and with achieving accreditation, but we’re not done yet.

"This recognition underscores our commitment to creating a safe and respectful workplace for everyone, emphasising our dedication to gender equality and the protection of both our staff and the wider community.

"We’ve researched best practices and collaborated with an external HR consultant to not only meet but exceed industry standards, ensuring that together we are fostering a workplace that prioritises safety and respect for all.

"Beyond personal safety, we acknowledge that the broader drivers of systemic inequities and unconscious bias will take a long time and take a lot of effort to wind back, but we have made a start in our own backyard.

"A commitment to reducing the gender pay gap, improved paid maternity leave that includes both short and long term considerations and flexible workplace hours and locations are just the beginning."
