Sensis brings back the green sock puppet

MELBOURNE: Telstra's advertising and directory arm Sensis is to launch its first ad campaign featuring the green sock puppet character for two years to promote its premium voice service 1234.

The campaign, created by DDB Melbourne, highlights 1234's call connection and texting services. The "Sock" returns this Sunday in a 30-second TVC called ‘Pens’ airing on Channel Seven, Nine Network and Network Ten in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as free-to-air networks across regional NSW and nationally on pay TV.

The campaign sees Sock working in the 1234 call centre and trying to impress his boss.

Sensis Group Manager, Marketing Geraldine Davy said: “It was important that when we again touch base with consumers we clearly communicated the 1234 service in a straightforward, funny and simple way, but also reinforced the many useful applications for the brand.

"DDB has once again produced a memorable campaign delivered in an engaging way that cleverly extends the existing creative. We’re really pleased with the outcome and confident it will help us continue to achieve our objectives for the 1234 brand."

The second "Sock" TVC in the campaign, called ‘Cake’, will air in December. Sensis' media agency is OMD.
